Public Accountants

We work as a specialist for some of the largest public accounting firms in the country. They value our ability to communicate clearly and the transparency of our reports. We can provide you with additional comfort in your audits and reviews of financial intermediaries by:

  • Determining the fair value of loans and asset-backed securities using discounted cash flow models that are fully compliant with FASB Accounting Standards Codification (“FASB ASC”) – Topic 820 – Fair Value Measurements and Disclosures. This includes non-Agency MBS and Trust Preferred Securities. Our work meets the requirements of FAS ASC 820-10-65-4 and FAS ASC 320-10-65-1, including the determination of the "credit component" of OTTI.
  • Providing loan level valuation of servicing rights and interest only strips that meet the requirements of FAS ASC 860-50-35-3 and the Interagency Advisory on Mortgage Banking Activities.
  • Providing valuations of interest rate lock-in and sales commitments and ensuring that the accounting for these derivatives is in accordance with FAS ASC 815-10, SAB 109, and the Interagency Advisory on Accounting and Reporting for Commitments to Originate and Sell Mortgage Loans.
  • Working with your clients to develop and implement interest rate risk management policies that meet the rules required to achieve "hedge" accounting under FAS ASC 815-10 or "fair value" accounting under FAS ASC 820-10.
  • Providing ongoing independent validation and review of models used by your clients for valuation and risk management
